How long does a chew actually last?

For an average chewer, a size-matched bar lasts two to three weeks. Heavy chewers on the XL report about eight days. If yours goes in under two days, size up and we will send the next size free once.

Question 2

My dog is between two sizes. Up or down?

Accepted Answer

Up. The bar should be too big to fit fully in the mouth; that is what makes it wear rather than break. A bar that is slightly too large is only slower, never less safe.

Question 3

Is it safe? It looks very hard.

Accepted Answer

It is hard, which is the point: it abrades rather than shattering, so there are no splinters. Take it away when the stub is small enough to swallow whole, or puff it in the microwave for forty seconds. Always supervise.

Question 4

Puppies and senior dogs?

Accepted Answer

Puff bites until about eight months, and again from the point where the back molars are visibly flattened. Same cheese, crumbles under a thumb. Our vet's note is in the journal.

Question 5

My dog is lactose intolerant.

Accepted Answer

The chew is under 0.1 % lactose; the whey goes out with the pressing water. Most dogs who react to milk do not react to this, but start with a puff bite rather than a bar.

How does payment work?

Stripe. Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and iDEAL are accepted; card details never touch our servers. You do not need an account to order.

Question 7

Can I change or cancel an order?

Accepted Answer

Until it is picked, yes: email us with the order number. After the label is printed we can only redirect the parcel, which the carrier sometimes charges for.

Do you ship outside the EU?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Serbia is priced in euros with customs handled on our side. The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Switzerland and Norway pay in dollars at one flat tracked rate; import duties there may apply.

Shipping and returns?

Accepted Answer

Dispatched from Rotterdam within 48 hours, tracked EU delivery in two to four days. Free over €45.00, otherwise €4.90. Unopened tins go back within 30 days; opened chews cannot, for obvious reasons.

The parcel has not arrived.

Check the tracking link first: the carrier usually holds it at a pick-up point after one attempt. If it has not moved in five working days we send a replacement and argue with them ourselves.

Why sell dog chew and green tea together?

Accepted Answer

Because the same co-op produces both, from the same valley, in alternating seasons. Buying both is what makes the shipping economics work for them and the price work for you.

How should I store the tea?

In the tin it came in, away from the hob. Green tea fades with light and heat rather than with time; a sealed tin in a dark cupboard is good for a year.

Is the spring lot really limited?

Yes. The flush is ten days long and the plot is small, roughly 700 tins a year. When it is gone the gunpowder is the everyday alternative.
